Overview

1963 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport

Corvette Grand Sport CGS0031 is one of the most exclusive sports cars on the road, and the story behind the limited series of Chevrolet road racers is simply incredible.

In late 1962, Chevrolet chief engineer Zora Arkus Duntov planned to build a production run of 125 purpose-built Corvette racecars to compete in the GT class at Le Mans. The Chevrolet marketing department christened the sports car the "Grand Sport."

After a test run of just five cars, GM cancelled the project and ordered them destroyed. Duntov hid the first two while Texans Alan Sevadjian, Delmo Johnson and Jim Hall purchased the other three. Johnson piloted a Grand Sport in the 1965 Sebring race.

You can own an authentic continuation version authorized and approved by GM of the spectacular Grand Sport racecar. Superformance CGS0031 is painted in a brilliant blue with period correct white pinstripes and #2 roundels, giving the sports car a high level of authenticity. Powered by a Chevy LS9 small block churning out 635HP, the V8 engine is mated to a Tremec T56 6-speed transmission. The LS9 features a track ready drysump setup along with a custom evap breather system. The car features a gorgeous black leather touring interior with air conditioning, power door locks, tilt steering wheel and power windows. Other options include 18 and 17 inch wheels Nitto tires and stainless steel side pipes with custom ceramic coated headers. An additional set of White headlight covers are also provided.

CGS0031 is titled as a 1963 Chevrolet in Florida. With only 1,467, it is available for immediate pickup in South Florida or delivery at only $299,950.
