This is a beautiful, one-of-a-kind hand-built clone of the world-champion Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe (not a CSX numbered car). The attention to detail is spectacular and the dash of the car is signed by the original designer, Peter Brock, as well as one of the original Team Shelby world championship drivers, Allen Grant.
Engine: 526HP Ford Racing 289 w/Italian IDA Webers and correct center linkage, hoses, turkey pan. Period correct hoses, fittings and ancillaries installed on engine. Aluminum radiator with shroud, oil cooler, and all period A/N fittings. Electric fan.
Transmission: Period correct 4 speed T-10 with Galaxie tail shaft. Polished close ratio gears, built by Cobra specialist Mike Miles.
Body: Hand rolled and formed ALUMNIUM body with inner panels by Lech Kowalski. Correct dimensions and body lines per an original Daytona Coupe with over 3,000 hours in body creation alone. Correct leaf spring tubular Cobra chassis with Daytona modifications as per original drawings. The entire car was constructed with period correct hardware and gauges. Dash panel has radium tipped WW2 aircraft switches as per original. Plexiglass side windows and rear, original glass windscreen remade for authenticity. Correct Halibrand aluminum Shelby FIA wheels on Dunlop racing tires. Dash signed by Peter Brock & Allen Grant.
Rear End: Shelby aluminum Salisbury diff independent rear 3:31 ratio with diff cooler and pump.
Front/Rear Suspension: Front - Custom made leaf spring to racing 289 specs from AC original uprights with adjustable lower control arms. Rear - Custom made leaf spring to racing 289 specs. Original uprights with 427 bearings, half shafts to independent Shelby rear end.
Brakes – FIA Spec: Original Girling calipers front and rear. Functional hand brake. Original solid rotors. Brake calipers and pads have functional custom cooling vents front and rear.
